FOCUS ON THE PATH; IGNORE THE OBSTACLES.

FOCUS ON THE PATH; IGNORE THE OBSTACLES.

Sometimes ago, I was on Facebook and I saw a video from a speech given by a speaker (motivational speaker) at an event and I saw a lesson in what he said.

He said, "You can't tell the human brain to do the negative. For instance, don't think of an elephant". The audience, including myself who was watching, immediately thought about an elephant, and then I immediately understood what he meant. He continued and said, " The human brain is difficult not to do something. That is why when you're learning to ski, the skiers would tell you to focus on the road, because the second you think in your head, 'don't hit the tree', that is when you'd run right through to one."

You see, in our lives also, we are always trying to not make mistakes. We want to be so sure; we want to be perfect. Trevor Noah said in one of his comedies, "One problem of humans is that we get so comfortable knowing- 'how is the weather going to be tomorrow?' We know! 'How is the traffic along the route I'm taking?' We know! And for this reason, we forget just how uncertain life can be."

Life is not certain and we are not created to be perfect. The more you're scared of making mistakes, the more you won't get those things done. The project you planned two years ago hasn't been executed because you are scared it may fail. Remember, you won't learn if you don't. If you got the opportunity to make it at the first trial, it doesn't mean you know, it was just God helping you.

As we have entered this new year, go back to those half-baked plans, those abandoned projects, those unachieved dreams, and make them work even if you have to fail over and over again. We say this “little drops make an ocean”  but  I might not be wrong to generalize that while we say that as just mouth words a lot of us don’t really think it possible that little drops of water really make an ocean. Dear you, your mistakes may be the little efforts you need to propel you to that dream.

Failure has never been the end of anything uncompleted, it is the lack of willpower to continue that kills dreams. Why do you keep seeing failure as an enemy? Get up, stop seeing failure as an enemy rather make lemonade out of its sour lemon and see yourself soaring like a kite.

Is there anything I wish so much for you this year? Oh! yes, it is seeing you make fully-baked cakes from your half-baked ones, seeing you achieve those dreams you have swept under the carpet for so long. I know you think this is just another random motivational speech, I don't dispute but why not make use of it, get motivated this may be the one you need to get back on track.

Hoping you find the strength to achieve more this year.

Catch ya.
