“Do you”
Follow our page
The term "do you” has become a popular statement of encouragement in our today's settings? To every Tom, Dick, and Harry that seeks advice or a piece of soothing words, the response is usually do you buttress with " if it makes you happy". But, have we ever wondered if everything that makes Jadesola happy is the right thing?
Today I want to ask a question but before then, let me paint some scenarios.
Let me begin with the not long ago issue that happened. A lady was reported to have slept with a dog for a sum of 1.5 million Naira. I may be wrong with assumption here but, I would like to believe that she must have told someone beforehand or hinted to someone, and they would have asked her to do it if she is okay with it. So, let me ask a quick
question, if we ask people to do what they choose to do if it makes them happy, why then do we criticize the outcome of what makes them happy?
Again, our political looters scooping millions and billions into their pocket, enriching their children so that 10 generations after them are still dancing in wealth like the proverbial ant who dances in sugar. Please, how have they wronged us for us to criticize them, didn't we ask them to do what makes them happy? So, who cares if what makes them happy hurts others.
I want you to also remember Men of god, yes the small letter is intentional. What do you think of a man of god who sleeps with his church members and swindles them of a large amount of money for raising supplications to God on their behalf?
He is being himself, doing him as it makes him happy.
That reminds me, Ademola who enjoys drinking himself to stupor, oh mine that is when he reaches his highest state of happiness and his own way of being himself. But don't forget the day he runs over Lade in such a state we would all forget that we told Ademola to be himself.
Eric, who is a pedophile, is being himself by raping, harassing little Ones. He gets his happiness that way, don't you know? Nonetheless, we would all say he is a bad man, despite we being the preacher to do what makes us happy.
The crazy boss who derives pleasure from seeing his employees in misery also derives some happiness from that too, or don't you know that you and I asked them to do what makes them happy? And if that is what makes him/ her happy, who are we to again criticize such action?
Well, this isn't to ask people not to do what pleases them or what makes them happy but whatever makes you happy but is damaging to another's well-being, or even you shouldn't be considered at all. Not all that gives happiness currently is really worth it …
Look at this "sometimes food no dey give man joy but Canadian loud the feeling is different” don't forget, you get the highness for only a brief moment while the result is damaging systems and addiction.
Well, I will still ask you to do you, or what do you think?

Myths debunked
Introverts.
Yea! You read that right ☝️, so what's the first thing you think of when you hear the word introverts?
Do you think they're shy weirdos and boring individuals? What if I told you that those myths about introverts are misconceptions and numerous people in the society have clearly misunderstood their personality, even, study shows that one-third to half of the population are largely introverts.

Hmmmmmm...... What if what makes me happy is not what is right? Insightful!
ReplyDeleteLike I always say too, the fact that you love doing it does not mean it is write.... Don't just 'do you', do what makes you and other people happy.
ReplyDeleteMay we not be the one who will cause mishap for our close ones by advising other people to be themselves regardless of the rightness or wrongness of their doings.
This is a food for thought really. Let's learn to consider society in out definition of happiness
