LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR, DO GOOD TO THEM THAT HATE YOU!

LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR, DO GOOD TO THEM THAT HATE YOU!
In one of the teachings of Jesus Christ (known to Muslims as Prophet ʿĪsā عِيسَىٰ), said 'Love your enemies, do good to them that persecute you' and in another of His teachings said 'Love your neighbours as yourself'.
Although there exist some dichotomies amongst all religions of the world, it is imperative that we know that we all have a central point of convergence: GOD! All religion, except some that doesn't agree to the existence of God, pray to the Most High deity; God!
The message he: Jesus (Prophet ʿĪsā عِيسَىٰ) came to preach was love. And all religions of the world practice it to the best of their ability.
A group of artiste (for Kings and Country) sang in one of their songs that '....No one ever wins, when the goal is to settle a score....'
The truth is when everyone tries to be perfect, or be the 'right' one, everyone eventually neglect what is right and start justifying wrongs to suit their own selfish point of view.
We should always find out what is wrong and address it.

I am not blaming Deborah for her death, but, "when you're in England you should behave like an Englishman". The cause of Deborah's death is not religion, but extremism on the part of some of our Northern brothers.
The Hausas are, although caring and easygoing people, known to be volatile and destructive when they are angry. I am not castigating them, I am just saying who they are naturally. I do not know the reason for this attitude, perhaps I would if I was one myself.
Yet, the fact that they have this kind of innate attitude does not justify the killing of Deborah.
An occurrence in the University of Ibadan which was worse than the one in Shehu Shagari College of Education, was peacefully and amicably settled without leading to bloodshed. This is with kudos to the leadership of the Mosque and the school management.

Possibly the death of Deborah would have been avoided if the school had been able to wade into the matter and community leaders had helped quench the fire of the gruesome occurrence.
In a nutshell, the cause of Deborah's death wasn't just the 'careless' voice note she sent, but the non-involvement  of the school authority and the community authorities.
While we continue to pray that God grant her soul complete repose and her family strength to bear their loss, we call on others alive to learn to live with others and live in the wisdom of God.
Love God and Love your neighbours as yourself!
Shalom!

  1. I have always loved my neighbours and do good to them that hate me. Well, I've got no problem in doing good but if anyone comes close and hurt the people I love, I'm going to put the person to the ground
