Our Independence

Today, I want to bring back the memory of how Nigeria became independent. The Nigerian Independence Movement began as nationalist who had been outside the shores of Nigeria to study came back and saw that we couldn't go on like that. These nationalists include Nnamdi Azikiwe, Obafemi Awolowo and Anthony Enahoro.

These nationalists fought hard for the liberation of their beloved country, and they believed in our many resources and the vast wealth stored in our beloved Nigeria.

Nigeria is truly a blessed country, and it would be a huge mistake to let the British continue to rule over us. So, they fought until we became independent in 1960.

After Nigeria gained Independence Oh yes, the freedom we were looking for, freedom to govern ourselves, to own our finances, have our own rules and no second class citizens for anyone.

Even after 62 years, I still have a strong feeling that there is still that desire and passion for independence.

But now, we are not fighting for independence from foreign states, but from our leaders, who enjoyed our country's resources in the early days of Nigeria's independence.

They now parade in the dressing of the monsters we fought so hard to kick off our lands. Now we suffer not from the mercy of aliens on our land, but at the mercy of our leaders, full-blooded Nigerians, who called us there tomorrow. They called us the leaders of the future, but they didn't say that we will only lead from their behinds.

Their duty was to make a better place a for us to continue their good deeds. But the downside is that the resources we ought to use are being scattered among the monster's countries, yet we all claimed to loathe their ruling over us.

As the 2023 general election approaches, it has become a startling sight for both the blind and the deaf to hear that this is not just another election. This is another fight to kick off the monsters on our lands, yes, another fight for our independence.

Think about these things, for how long will we continue to wine and dine with these ambassadors of poverty? They have got their anus at home but their bodies abroad.

How long will corruption continue to be the sun that shines down on us? How long, again, will our children be out of school while the minister in charge of education squanders money on procuring a presidency form?

How long would we watch the law becoming a tool that is subject to manipulation in the hands of a few? Think of it the CBN governor, a current one, still in position being a presidential candidate. What a height of …. I am lost for words.

How long again will we have flying money but never reach the masses? How long, my brothers, sisters, fathers, and mothers will we go on folding hands, clapping hands, buying Punches and Guardians, but no changes occurring?

How long will the songs on our lips be about striking workers or irregular power supply or banditry? Exactly how long because this isn't the independence we craved for.

Remember, to get your PVC
THE INDEPENDENCE WE WANT CAN ONLY BE ACHIEVED BY YOU.
YES, YOU.
